 Brief Description, Synopsis or Abstract of Your Session:  

The session (8am & 4pm GMT) will explore how rising fuel costs, increasing warehouse and labour costs are impacting distribution networks in China. One often hears that logistics costs in China are twice those in Western economies, but this session will attempt to try and explore why costs are higher. It will also investigate whether China’s infrastructure projects have had an impact on logistics costs and whether future infrastructure projects might change a company’s logistics network.

The session will merge Barloworld Optimus' experience as a leading global supply chain modeller, with its local knowledge & expertise in China. The session will include discussions around how companies operating in China can apply best practice network modelling techniques & approaches in order to realize opportunities for cost and service optimization in their supply chain.

Biography of the Presenter:

Fraser graduated from the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology with a BSc (Hons) in International Management with American Business Studies in 1996. He then spent three years at Matthew Clark, a UK based drinks manufacturer and wholesaler, in a variety of operational and project management roles within the logistics function.  Upon joining Radical in 2000, Fraser conducted consulting projects with various blue chip clients across Europe including Sony and Dow Chemicals. In April 2002, Fraser moved to Toronto to manage the North American subsidiary, Radical Strategic Logistics Modelling Inc.  He has managed over 50 supply chain modelling engagements in North America, Europe and Asia for many of the world's largest companies. Since October 2005 he has been responsible for CAST Global Business Development for worldwide operations. He regularly speaks at the CILT roundtables, UK Modelling Forum, the CHaINA summit in Shanghai and the CSCMP virtual roundtables.
