System integration
Barloworld Optimus products are widely used throughout many industry sectors and have been integrated with most leading ERP and transaction systems including SAP. In environment where simple flat file transfer protocols are not sufficient, Barloworld Optimus has, in partnership with ETL Solutions LTD, developed a comprehensive, flexible bi-directional connectivity solution using Transformation Manager (TM), and TM Transforms have been accredited “certified for use with SAP® R/3® software.
Why Transformation Manager?
The key to delivering robust, reliable data integration is to fully define the workflow, rules for exchanging data, and quality checks to be met. The workflow may comprise initial bulk load of data, near real-time data flows and periodic updates such as end of day and end of month, with data stored in staging databases as needed.
Using TM’s Design Tool integration rules are easily captured in a way that can be understood by all the people involved in the project. Once these have been agreed the data integration components are automatically generated.
Functionality
The supply chain integration component includes key features such as:
· Automatic scheduling and transfer of files
· Email notification if errors are detected
· Audit Tables which hold the records processed for subsequent review
· Log Files which summarise the transforms that have been run
· Lookup tables to assist with transform logic
· Staging tables where data is consolidated prior to be transferred to Barloworld Optimus Supply Chain Planning Systems
